Committee for Melbourne
The Committee for Melbourne is an action-focused network, vitally interested in shaping Melbourne and ensuring its liveability and prosperity.
Our members represent the highest levels of over 170 organisations drawn from the city’s major companies, academic institutions and civic organisations.
The Committee’s Culture Card program is an initiative to make international students feel welcome in Victoria and culturally engaged by linking students to socially orientated and culturally relevant experiences.
The Committee has brought together key stakeholders including cultural attractions, tourism agencies and education providers to collaborate on a Culture Card that will make a substantive difference to the quality of student life in Melbourne and Victoria.
State Government of Victoria
The State Government of Victoria announced the Culture Card initiative in its $14 million ‘Thinking Global: Victoria's Action Plan for International Students” in September 2009.
The Government is committed to ensuring international students feel welcome in Victoria and enjoy not only a high quality education but also access to Melbourne and Victoria's cultural and sporting activities.
